Tomorrow i’m going to my friends brothers funeral and i don’t know what to say to her. I can’t imagine how she feels or what she’s going through. I’ve been friends with her for a long time and for the past 5 years we drifted apart, as life has a tendency to do that, but she texted me last week that her brother died and i felt real messed up for txting her back. But my sister and our other friend are going to the mass and burial tomorrow afternoon and i’m so confused right now ! i feel so bad for her entire family :( he died of alcoholism and left his wife and 4 children behind and was like an older brother to me.
Can anyone help me out on what i should say or not say ? i understand when people pass away that it certain things can make someone more angry and upset.

lol debbie downer nice name. My friend and i talk on the phone, but we rarely hang out because she lives and works far, so its not like i haven’t talked to her in 5 years, also her brother was not a nice drunk , he was a cool person when he was sober.

My older brother and I are in a war of words.
He says I have ruined my life because I didn’t go to college when I was young, and I now have a low paying job, and because for many years I smoked pot (I quit a few years ago), and because I got fired friom a good job 4 years ago.
I, though, remind him that he once lost his job, house, and wife because of his alcoholism, that he has never held a job for more than a couple of years, and that he has cheated on every wife he has been married to, including getting a married woman pregnant while he was married to wife #3.
And, although he was sober for years, he is drinking again.
I may be an ex-pothead under achiever, but I never cheated on my wife.
So, who is the bigger loser? My brother or me?

He got a DWI and lost his license. What kind of trouble can I get in?
I don’t think it is a great idea but my wife feels bad for him.
What do you think you would do?

My brother is addicted to meth and is also suicidal. His common law wife found out that he was having an affair with another women who is also addicted to meth. Since then my brother talks about killing himself and he has a loaded gun that he carries in his pocket. His wife has told me that he has held the gun to his chest and head in front of her threatening to kill himself for what he has done. He also says that he is obsessed with this “other women” and can’t let her go. They apparently have had a very volatile relationship and this other women knows how to push his buttons. He seems even more obsessed with her since he found out she has another boyfriend. She continues to call my brother and even met him at a motel last monday. My brother said they did some meth together then somehow she drugged him and stole his car (the car he was driving belongs to our dad). Since then he is delusional and even more suicidal. During one episode he kept calling his wife by the other girls name.

He thinks his wife has cheated on him. Which is not true. He think all this happened 3 yeas ago.He has been in hospital for a week and all these story started a week ago aswell. Will he get better and forget all this?

Background – Brother is in USCG. Found out the other day, wife has been cheating in his home when he goes on the boat. He came home a day early and found her in bed with another man…

He took wife to see psychiatrist who diagnosed her with depression with suicidal ideation and alcoholism.

They have a two month old child.

She is 19. My brother is 23. The wife has been hanging with a girl who’s boyfriend is involved in gang activity.

She is down to 90lbs and we have reason to believe she is using drugs, other than marijuana.

She has already threatened my brother with knives and is extremely violent and erratic. She still has a key to their apartment. He fears for his safety and the safety of their child.

Can he put her away? How would he go about doing this.

He is filing for divorce today.

CompassionateAngel-OMG! I’m with you on this one. We TOLD my brother this chick was trouble. I just fear for my brother’s safety and the baby. I’m all the way in Michigan. He’s in Missouri by himself. My father’s going down there tomorrow. Thank God. This is insane.
