I’ve been married for 2.5 years and we have a 2 year old, last may ’09 my wife had a flare up with her colon (she has ulcerative colitis) I knew she had the disease when we married but never experienced the flare up. She was is tons of pain and I have to work mon-fri, so she moved home with her mother who lives a few blocks away. She was put on steroids and other drugs and we began fighting mostly due to the fact I felt she should be home with me. I mean we married through sickness and health right? But her condition has fluctuated greatly in the past 9 months, we speak everyday 3-4x, but she says that she has no interest in moving home until she is feeling 100% better. I feel I have been very patient throughout and have not always acted the right way or said the right things but I have been here for her. Her sister lives with her mother also and helps with the baby because she doesn’t feel good, and I feel I can’t compete with this, I mean there are 2 extra sets of hands over there and I am only one man. Additionally her father passed the year before our wedding and I feel she likes being over there to make sure they aren’t alone (she’s the oldest) and bring joy to their lives (our son). The doctor said she is on the verge of getting better, but I have been hearing this for a year. So basically I am tired and wore down, we did go to a marriage retreat in October which has improved our relationship, but she still wont move home……should I give her an ultimatum? Move home or lets move on? Oh and also she won’t let me come and pick up my son and hang with him alone, she thinks I won’t watch him close enough, but I do see them both 5-6x a week

My wife takes drugs to replace the hormones her pituitary gland doesnt make. This gland is responsible for all the sex hormones. So basically she has no sex drive and when she tries to please me which is about once every 2-3 weeks she she initiates with a luke warm offer that is at best not sincere and at worst cold. We are married for two years and considering adopting a child but I am really struggling with the no sex thing. Is this normal for married couples in their thrities that are married only two years? I have a pretty healthy sex drive and although I am not considering ever cheating on her I dont see how I can last in this relationship without a healthy sex life and the feelings of love that come with it.

I still want to work it out. About 9 months ago she started hanging out with a boarder in our house. We have a severely autistic child and it can be difficult for my wife to make friends so I thought it might be a good idea for her to have somone to talk to. She started hanging out in his room a lot with the door open and just talking. She was staying up late talking with his door open and he had a guy that was his friend in there too. I trust her and go to bed. I wake up at 3am and the wife is not in bed. I go to tell her to come to bed and the guys door is closed with the lights off and the bed springs making noise. I cracked the door and the wife is getting banged by both guys! I am in shock and felt betrayed and just closed the door and sat in a chair to wait for her to come out. She comes out after about another half hour and is shocked to see me waiting. She says she is sorry and she just kind of got stoned and did what felt good. This coming from the woman to much
…the prude to do anything more than missionary with me. So I try to work things out with her she tells me it was just a one time thing. But I catch her again and she is stoned other times now. She insists that if I do anything about the boarder she will leave me. To compensate she starts doing things with me in the bedroom that I had always wanted her to do but she was too timid…well she is not inhibited anymore. I kind of let things go on with her going and doing whoever she wanted, part becaus eI felt stuck and part because selfishly she was now totaly satisfying me sexually. This went on for a while and she even started sleeping with women too. Eventually I had a jealous runin with the boarder and he left he left. She has not forgiven me. This also brings a problem, I kind of want the normal marriage back and she says I do not satisfy her since she likes doing more than one guy at once and @nal both things I will not do with her. She also insists on pot which I hate.
The boarder was needed for the money because my wife could no longer work because of my son’s behaviors we could find no one who would watch him. I do not make much money and the ironic thing was she asked me to get a male boarder because she did not feel it was appropriate to have a woman boarder with me being a man.

She did pot in high school and did not do it again(as far as I know) until the boarder incident.

Yes, I do now suspect she had previous affairs(she does not admit to it). When she worked at one company she started working late with no answer of phone and went in Saturdays and sunday to work. But was not bringing home any overtime pay…???

I fear that things are at the point of divorce. We have gone down two seperate paths..

I have a very close family member who me and my wife suspect may be using or considering using Meth………..

We think she may be using Meth, but she isnt exibiting any of the signs. We did how ever find some little baggys that we think may be Meth. My wife and I are arguing about whether or not insurance companies will refuse to cover drugs administered in a doctor’s office if you do not have prescription coverage. She says that prescriptions and drugs given by a doctor (e.g. anesthetics, steroids, etc.) are two separate things and insurance companies could not refuse to cover the latter based on lack of coverage for the former. I say that insurance companies will do anything to make a buck even if it defies rational explanation. Does anyone know which of us is correct?

Briefly, my wife of 3yrs. & mother of my 2.5 yr.old, used crack cocaine. several x’s. now she says she has 60+ days clean. she just regained more visiting time for her 8 yr.old son which she lost 5yrs. ago, from prior heroin addiction. She’d been clean about 6yrs. prior. she’s now not allowed to see him by court order. she’s had both kids around drug users & dealers. when i was at work. she’s stole, lied, & cheated. she would’nt even keep a pt. time job, keep house clean & would’nt take very good care of our son. she’s bi-polar,depressed, on med’s for it. slept,smoked cig’s,talked on phone most of the day. i had to put him in daycare. she really did nothing. she’s now in her own apt. w/a female ex-felon (crack)w/a 15yr.drug use habit. I pd. for the first month rent just to get her out of the house. now she’s unable to pay rent. says she attends 2-3 N/A mtg’s. a day. Our son is w/me. she says she made a mistake.& wants to return home. how many chances does she have to get it right? w/me

She has trouble walking up stairs, getting up from a chair, and getting started walking after standing up.
I first noticed her problem 2.5 yrs. ago. She practically had to crawl upstairs. The 18 mos. ago she broke her rt. shoulder requiring metal socket replacement operation. Dear dad,
I know that the last few years have been really rocky. Im only 14 and I have my entire life in front of me. I sure don’t feel 14, in my opinion… I have been put through way more than an average teenager. I may be young, but im not oblivious. At 12 years old I found another side to my perfect dad that I had looked up to for so, so long. From day one you were someone I wanted to be like someday. You could put a smile on my face, make me laugh, you were an all around perfect dad. Now im not saying we we’re perfect, because we weren’t. But that day, two years ago… made a huge impact in our relationship. I think you and I both felt our world shift, or at least I did. The day I found the pot in your car, I changed. You might not have been able to tell, but I could and many people around me could. I was depressed, and had absolutely no one to turn to. When I was dropped off at school at 7am, I would walk over to the church and pray until 7:40. I would pray that somehow you would see through the addiction. I was so depressed, I considered suicide. I would lay in bed, for god knows how long thinking how much easier life would be with out me. I wrote goodbye letters and I would tell myself to wait another day, that maybe JUST MAYBE you would change.

“It’s not affecting anyone but me”, is what you told me when I found your pot. But it does affect everyone around you. It effects me, Blake and Luke, mom, your parents, everyone around all of us. And more importantly it MAJORLY affects you. Marijuana is really, really dangerous and ISNT okay, for anyone. I would NEVER, EVER try drugs because I have seen the horrible side effects daily. Maybe at first… it was your escape, your way to forget everything that is happening and let go. Well this ‘escape’ has turned into a habit. I had constantly argued to you about how you don’t care about me, I still have doubts. I wish that I could change you, but a person can only change if THEY want to. As hard as EVERYONE tried to get you to open your eyes and REALLY SEE what you had. An amazing wife, three children, you had EVERYTHING in the palm of your hands. I thought that if you loved me enough, one day you would stop. Stop, and never go back to the habit. Obviously it wouldn’t be easy. That’s for sure, but maybe just maybe if you could take the struggle and turn into a goal I could have my dad back. I miss my dad. I really, really miss him. I wish you missed me enough to stop smoking, to stop drinking, to be a responsible parent, and to stop sleeping every second you have downtime. Love is stronger than any addiction. And if you AND I don’t work at it, there’s not going to be anything left. i want my dad to be there when I get married, I want him to walk me down the aisle and give me away. I WANT to mean more to you then marijuana does. I really, really want to because I hate seeing you depressed, and not yourself. Honestly, I don’t know what marijuana does to people physically. My husband claims the older child and she claims the younger. For the past year or so the ex-wife has become more and more consumed by her crack addiction. We now have full custody but didn’t for 2006 even though the kids were primarily with us. We have always paid for all their clothes, school supplies, etc b/c she is frequently jobless. Restraining order against my wife who is a meth addict?

My wife is a meth addict I left her and took our sons because she is was using and would not even admit to having a problem. I have found her pipes and other evidence of the drug use. So after I left she said she was clean and doing well so I let her start taking the boys again, Well she comes to drop off our sons and we get into an argument and I tell her to leave. As she is leaving she threatens to burn my house down and I lock myself and our sons in the house and call the police and she starts to hit and kick my doors and windows. The police come and said she didn’t commit a crime. I know I don’t and won’t return the kids into her care but is it enough for a restraining order in California.

My question is regarding if I should butt-in or not. My B.I.L. is married with 3 children. His wife works while he stays at home with the kids. The problem is, he is a crack addict. He didn’t start this until he was expecting baby #1…really strange if you ask me but, anyway. My husband (his younger brother), my MIL, FIL and myself busted him pawning stuff that he steals out of their home (including their wedding bands!!!) He has fallen asleep many, many times while the kids were both infants (they are 11 months apart) and the neighbor had to break-in to wake him up. He said they were crying for over 3 hours! His wife is aware of his addiction but, she won’t tell him to stop because last time she told him that, he left her while she was 6 months prego. My MIL refuses to acknowledge that he even has a problem. Recently, my SIL was telling me that they go to my in-laws and “shop”. They go over there and take what they want out of their house! My hubby won’t speak to them at all.

My wife became addicted to precocet. She reduced her dosage slowly down to half a pill. She has decided to quit the medicine altogether, but is having severe chills and heat flashes. Does anyone know how long these will continue?
My wife was prescribed percocet after an operation and after 3 weeks stopped taking it since no longer needed for pain. We found out she became addicted and she started taking it again but in reduced amounts and 3 days ago started taking half a pill. 18 hours ago she decided to no longer take any more medicine. She is currently having severe cold chills. Does anyone know how long these symptoms may last since she wasn’t addicted very long? When she told her doctor, all he said was to continue taking reduced dosages until she was off them.

My wife just got home from work (She works 8PM-3AM, it is 4 AM) and she told me that she found Cannabis (marijuana) in our 16 year old sons bed room when she was cleaning it out yesterday before work. We are both infuriated at him! We don’t know what to do though, if we call the cops, we lose him. If we ground him, he will just find something else to do, or sneak out. We don’t want him to do either, but we don’t want to ignore this as well. What should we do?
Were I live, if I called the cops on him, they would take him away from us, put him in Juvenile hall, for a few months, then put him in a foster family, we wouldn’t get to see him any more.

She was cleaning his room, so that way it doesn’t look like a pig sty when we have guests tomorrow, we trusted him, we don’t go into his room “snooping” around.

I am taking trazodone and strattera (spelling?), the first one is for depression and the second one is for ADHD, but my wife and I are thinking of having a child. Could it cause any kinds of birth defects with the baby if I were to get my wife pregnant while I am on these drugs or should I see about not taking them for awhile?
