Cindy McCain story of drug addiction and illegally obtaining, possessing and using barbiturates (and who knows what all else), we cannot but think of the 2.3 million people in jail in the United States, record numbers that are the highest in the world, most of whose offenses were no more serious than the illegal drug-related acts of Cindy McCain, for which she was not punished at all.
“I had finally tracked down the public records that confirmed Cindy McCain’s addiction and much more, and the McCains knew I was about to get them. Cindy’s tale was released on the day the records were made public.
But the story I was pursuing was not so much about Cindy McCain’s unfortunate addiction. It was much more about her efforts to keep that story from coming to light, and the possible manipulation of the criminal justice system by her husband and his cohorts. The irony is that Cindy’s secret would have stayed secret if John McCain’s heavy-hitting lawyer, John Dowd (of D.C.’s Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld; his most recent claim to fame was serving as co-counsel for fellow partner Vernon Jordan during impeachment) hadn’t heavy-handedly pulled out all the stops to protect the McCain family.”

My nephew got his girlfriend pregnant. Her home environment is horrible. She has an open protective services case due to physical abuse from her step father, as well as neglect from her mother, who is a recovering heroin addict. My brother and his wife want custody of their sons girlfriend, but how do they go about doing so? The pregnant girlfriend is still too young to go through emancipation in the state of Michigan.
Last night my wife came home at 9 pm. She gets off work at 5 pm and has to pick our son up by 5:30. I called the house many times up until 8:15 pm and there was no answer. She always answers.I left 3 messages throughout the evening and finally called again, checked the messages that I had left, and then erased them. I had a plan. I finally called back at 9 and she picked up. She sounded intoxicated and I could hear my son crying in the background. Calmly, I asked her what she had done this evening. She said that she had picked up our son and come home and played trucks and buses with our 2 year old. I responded, again calmly, with “well, I have been calling for the past two hours and you didn’t answer.” She avoided the question by talking to our son in the background. I let it go. She also said that she had heard my message, however, I had erased all of my messages and the one that her friend left saying what a good time they had at happy hour. What do I do. I have so much to lose.Help
