Literally, the definition of encourage is to put heart into. All of us need encouragement. Encouragement could have a great effect and powerful impact on co-workers and bosses. When this definition is applied to our situations in work, it may suggest:1.) Increasing morale by offering support to others in the office and expressing approval. 2.) Giving team members a vote of trust and confidence. 3.) Stimulating collaboration and cooperation between departments, work units and the company as a whole. 4.) Lifting people up and moving them to do those things they need to do to accomplish career and company objectives.

5.) Inspiring, stirring and motivating co-workers and superiors with courage, confidence and hope. 6.) Empowering direct reports and peers to reach their maximum potential and grow professionally. It has been said that one word of encouragement in the times of failure is worth more than one hour of praise or compliment after success. Colleagues and bosses alike face some tough situations and fail or make mistakes on a daily basis. They need help to deal and cope with fear, doubt, uncertainty and disappointment. What people need desperately is a person like you to come alongside them and encourage them for trying even in the midst of failure or rejection…somebody who acknowledges and accepts them by helping to keep their self confidence still intact despite of the failed attempts and a person who truly cares about them.

Even if people sometimes act tough or strong outside—as if they are calmly and successfully handling the negative emotions and reactions that accompany a mistake, do not believe it! Somewhere, deep down inside, they are flooded with better disappointment and overwhelming feelings of fear and doubts about having made yet another slip up or blunder. Put Heart into Other People at Work. When we put heart into other people when we are working, we actually lead them and make them believe that they can attain greater things than they ever thought possible. To encourage is one of the greatest but easiest and simplest work tools on hand to boost and uplift a boss’ or workmate’s self confidence.

Given below are the following tips to help you to be an encourager on the job. 1.) Notice and recognize the efforts and improvements some colleagues make most especially after a mistake. 2.) Reassure team members or give them a pat on the back after a setback or failure or disappointment. 3.) Show some appreciation for each team member in your office for the contributions they make. 4.) Show others at your workplace that you really care! Radiate a positive influence on their busy work lives by giving them encouragement just because…5.) Accept and value your workmates as they really are and don’t try to put conditions on accepting them.

6.) Act as a fan club member or a cheerleader for a boss or co-worker. Cheerfully assure them, “I know you could do this…” 7.) Deliberately look for some small ways or methods to encourage other people verbally, in writing, or through your behavior towards them. 8.) Help other people in your office to believe in themselves. Point out their own positive characteristics and how these could lead to success in their life.

Hypnosis is the most fantastic facilitator to the human mind and hence to human potential. The key to success is in your own mind and hypnosis is the state which will unlock it. This is why I love hypnosis.

To not use hypnosis is like having a beautiful airplane, complete with pilot and staff at your disposal, unlimited money for fuel, permission to land anywhere in the world, but to not have the ability to pass on your instructions to these people. I was going to use the analogy of having a train with no engine, but this would be wrong. Your reality is only real because you perceive it as such. It is your own perceptions, and your own interpretation of these perceptions, which create your reality.

You and I, at this moment in time, are living different realities. Even if we were in the same room, watching the exact same television program, sitting on the same sofa, we would be experiencing different realities. You could be having a great time, feeling comfortable on the sofa, laughing at what is playing on the television. I, on the other hand, might be experiencing discomfort; I might be finding the sofa to be lumpy, my back sore, my teeth hurting and the program anything but hilarious! I could even not be paying attention to what is going on now and instead be “lost in thought”, perhaps day-dreaming. I could be mulling over something which happened 20 years ago or projecting into the future and imagining something.

But whether your thoughts are focused in the present, the past or the future, each thought creates a feeling, a sensation, a good or a bad feeling, and these feelings are real. Your thoughts create your reality. We all know this to be true, so why do so few of us take the time to choose our thoughts more carefully? I fear that the answer to this is that most people do not know HOW to change their thoughts. And so I am on a mission to enlighten people to the empowering and facilitating effect of hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a normal and natural state of mind. It is the state between wake and sleep. As you drift off to sleep your brain waves change from the beta waves of normal waking consciousness to the alpha-theta waves of relaxation and sleep. The same shift in brain wave activity is seen in hypnosis. When you dream each night, in the REM state, your brain carries out the task of conflict resolution. This happens each and every night and is vital to our health and well being. Love and the heart are some of my favorite subjects.  I love to see love expressed at any opportunity and by anyone who happens to be expressing it.  I think we all are richer by the love that is released into the world by each and every one of us. 

 

Love is on my mind lately, as well as in my heart, because of a project I have been working on for sometime.  It involves putting people together, helping people find someone to like or love.  In doing so, various people wander into my gallery and chat about their lives and in many cases the love that is missing in their lives.  These are wonderful people who just might be out of the loop of people and the opportunity of finding a partner.  It might be after a previous partner has moved on in some way.  I try to cheer them up and inspire them to keep a look out, for surely there is someone who equals their desire for a friend or mate.

 

That’s just one kind of love — people to people.  And then yesterday Mia wandered in.  Mia is a golden doodle of such genuine sweetness no one could miss it.  She is calm and patient and she instinctively knows who loves her.  I love her.  She comes right over to me and leans up against my leg, in a manner that is never aggressive or demanding, waiting for me to rub her neck and tell how wonderful she is.  And I do because she is.  Her owner, Cathy, has taken Mia to be trained for hospital work.  She will be such a help to those who are shut-in and have little opportunity to give and receive love.

 

Then today a friend sent me an e-mail about an extraordinary Washington state man named Jeff who, through his love and efforts, salvaged an injured baby eagle 10 years ago.  He called her Freedom and spent weeks hand-feeding her and nursing this little bird back to life.  Because of her injuries he knew she could never fly, so he glove trained her and took her to do educational programs at schools. 

 

Then Jeff was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma and under went 8 rounds of chemo.  During that time he took Freedom out for walks.  She also showed up in his dreams, seeming to help him fight the cancer.  On the day he was given a clean bill of health he took Freedom out for another walk.  She somehow knew of his triumph.  He said she looked at him and wrapped both her wings around him to where he could feel her wings on his back.  Then she touched his nose with her beak and stared into his eyes.  That was a magic moment for him.

 

There were many other extraordinary healings involving this bird.  It all came from the love this man had for this bird and this bird’s tremendous appreciation in return.  It is a story that one might not believe, but I saw the picture that proved it — Jeff with his Freedom snuggled up against his chest.

 

Love in any form is love.  The more the better for the heart and everyone.

I was contemplating the truth in something that I once told my wife… that the true value of a gift is determined by the one who receives it. Since that time I have come to believe that not only does the receiver determine the value of a gift, he or she decides if what was given – is even a gift.

Remembering a time when I was watching one of those popular funniest video shows… There was an expectant mother who was breaking the news of her impending pregnancy to both her mother and her young daughter. The grandmother went wild with excitement.. while the daughter – well, she just went wild. She screamed, I DON’T WANT A BABY BROTHER!” Viewers went back and forth with the grandmother’s delight – and the child’s horror of discovering she would no longer be an only child! The grandmother felt that she had been truly gifted whereas the young girl did not.

I am always thinking of gift ideas for my wife, which is not an easy task because her wants are few and her needs are simple. She is the kind of woman who if I happened to show up with a diamond bracelet would thank me warmly and appreciate my thoughtfulness but who would have been happier if I had brought her a McCoy, which she collects.

Awhile back, she took the grandkids and made the rounds of several garage sales in the area. She managed to buy all three girls an outfit and a couple of other goodies for just three dollars. I happened to call her at the end of this excursion and you would have thought she had won the lottery. She was all excited over her yard sale bargains and I could hear her smile over the phone.

The kids would tell you that they had received a gift. My wife would tell you she had received a gift, but I would say it was me who received the gift when I saw the real joy and happiness in someone who lights up my world with her smile.

Who would have thought three dollars could have made so many people feel so gifted?

Three dollars in cash, immeasurable in value.

There are several things you can do. The first thing I recommend is that you start a daily Grati-Tude practice. This simply means taking 5-10 minutes every day to take note of what you can be grateful for. It doesn’t matter how big or small – just becoming consciously aware of what you already have in your life that is good and abundant will start to change your thinking from scarcity to abundance.

Make a list of at least 100 things you are grateful for – this will challenge you to think past the usual material things and stretch your mind to go beyond the obvious. For example, I’m grateful for clean water and fresh air, right through to the apartment I live in. I’m grateful for my partner who makes me laugh every day, and the smell of a fresh frangipani. No matter how big or small – there will be hundreds of things you can be grateful for which will help you realise how abundant your life really is.

Another thing you can do is to define what abundance really means to you. It’s not always about the money. In fact, most people aren’t inspired by money at all. They are inspired by what it allows them to do when they don’t have to worry about it. Here are 7 ways to give yourself the mental kick in the pants that you need to stop dragging your feet, get up off the couch, and get back into the habit again.

1) Firstly don’t break your precious habit – The easiest way to keep the habit going is simply not to stop for any reason. Avoiding long breaks in exercising or rebuilding your exercise habit will take some effort and this advice may be a little too late for some people. But if you have an exercise habit going strong, don’t drop it at the first sign of trouble as it is so much easier to stay fit than to actually get fit.

2) Focus your time and energy on just this one goal – If you have lots of other stuff going on, it is hard to focus on one important thing. Just work on one goal at a time giving it a little extra attention till it fits back into your life.

3) Start off small – We all have a tendency to try and do too much at first, especially if we are used to a certain level from our old exercise program. But when you are re-beginning it is best to hold back and just do a little, and then progress slowly back up to your old level. Once you are back in the habit and it is comfortable, you can increase your workload.

4) Do it for just one month to start –You can get started today as you do not need to start at the beginning of a month. Make a goal of 30 days and commit to that, and once you are past that, it will get much easier to simply keep going. You will be feeling so great why would you want to stop there?

5) Put an X on your calendar – Draw a red “X” through any day on the calendar that you go to the gym or do your exercise program. Keeping a steady amount of X’s on your calendar reinforces your success and is an easy way to motivate yourself.

6) Create a preparation ritual – Your workout routine should become so ingrained that it becomes a consistent ritual. This means that the time of day, place or cue automatically starts you towards getting ready, grabbing your bag and heading out. If you are able to do it at the same time every day and it will become a stronger habit. If your workout times are completely random, it will be harder to benefit from the momentum and strength of a routine.

7) Try and learn from your mistakes – There was a reason you stopped your exercise program and it may well happen again. If you can indentify what it was that de-railed you, you can plan to beat it next time. If you don’t do this it will surely happen again.

Following these seven simple guidelines will help you to become a regular, consistent, self motivated exerciser living a long, healthy and productive lifestyle.
