well i have two options i either go to rehab for 3-4 months for $27,000 being the only bread-winner in the household while my wife does nothing or i keep working do the outpatient thing and take methadone gradually reducing doses until the opiate addiction is gone. it is destroying my life financially and it’s destroying my life as far as my family goes too. oh and by the way my i have two children a 3 year old and a 4 month old. i know it’s my fault and i feel more guilt over the situation than you could possibly fathom but now it’s time to fix the problem so please don’t respond telling me how awful i am i just need insight on what others might do in my situation so the question is illustrated up above.

If the outpatient methadone treatment is working, stay with that. You’re dealing with enough guilt as it is. If you left your family for rehab for months, you’d be dealing with even more guilt.

    Keep walking your path.

    You’ll make it!

    Best of luck,

If the outpaitient is working hang in with it. If you go to rehab for 3-4 months you will fill even more guilty. I want to give you another approch inconneciton ith the outpaitent. Find you a really good christian bible believing church. a true christian church will not judge you and will help you with the support you need at a time like this. Assembly of God, or a Church of God Would be the best Maybe one who has a younger pastor. The Church of Christ is another on which will give you really good support. If you there is any thing else I can do just let me know.

I do not know what state you live in but some places that do rehab are grant funded. Try to see if there are in available in your area. That will at least take the burden of getting 27,000 together for treatment. Suboxone is a newer treatment for opiate addiction and is given in outpatient treatment like methadone. It might help you more than the methadone

    try the outpatient first
have a thorough physical to determine if you need any medication
go to meetings, get a sponsor
    don’t give up

I actually went into a lock-down psyche ward of my local hospital for 5 days where they helped me detox from opiates and they provided a lot of needed therapy.

Have you checked out anything like that? You could detox as in-patient and then also attend an outpatient program for a couple of weeks.
